Tiền vệ người Hà Lan rời Manchester City cách đây 2 năm không kèn không trống. Thế nhưng, hàng thải của người này có khi lại là niềm mơ ước của người khác.

Rõ ràng, những gì mà Louis van Gaal đang thể hiện cho thấy ông là một HLV có thể tin tưởng được cho tương lai lâu dài của Man Utd. Chỉ trong 3 tuần ngắn ngủi, van Gaal đã hoàn toàn thống trị phòng thay đồ tại Carrington, thiết lập một nền tảng kỉ luật chặt chẽ, bắt đầu công tác đào tạo trẻ, thử nghiệm các chiến thuật, thay thế, đảo vị trí... van Gaal thực sự đang áp dụng những gì tốt nhất của mình tại Old Trafford. Thậm chí để đáp ứng điều kiện làm việc của van Gaal, BLĐ Man Utd đã lắp thêm giường và đèn tại sân tập để các cầu thủ có thể vừa tập vừa nghỉ trưa tại trung tâm này, và sẵn sàng cho trường hợp... tập đêm.

HLV van Gaal không bị ảnh hưởng bởi bất kì ai. Man Utd như thể chưa từng có một Sir Alex thành công hay một David Moyes thất bại ở đó. Lúc này, Man Utd đã chơi theo kiểu rất van Gaal. Có 1 điều mà van Gaal vẫn còn chưa thể thành công, đó là mang về thêm những cái tên mới bên cạnh Ander Herrera và Luke Shaw. Trong khi Manucians đang mong đợi Arturo Vidal hay Thomas Vermaelen thì van Gaal đã gây bất ngờ khi bày tỏ mong muốn mua Nigel de Jong của AC Milan. Thoạt qua thì thấy đây hình như không phải quyết định thông minh, khi chính de Jong đã thất bại trong màu áo Man City cách đây vài năm. Giờ đây khi trở lại môi trường Premier League, liệu "Đao phủ" có thể hồi sinh?

10 triệu euro cho de Jong là một món hời

Thực vậy, trong mắt van Gaal, một cầu thủ không cần quá giỏi, anh ta chỉ cần làm đúng được những gì mà ông đòi hỏi. Vì thế mà một ĐT Hà Lan chẳng có cá nhân nào kiệt xuất lọt tới tận Bán kết World Cup, một Rivaldo xuất sắc nhất ngày trước ở Barcelona cũng phải ngồi dự bị vì bất tuân thượng lệnh chơi lệch trái. Toni Kroos, Cesc Fabregas và William Carvalho giỏi, nhưng có thể họ không phù hợp với triết lý của van Gaal. Những người phù hợp như Arturo Vidal hay Kevin Strootman, vì lí do này hay lí do khác, vẫn chưa tới Old Trafford. Vậy liệu Nigel de Jong phù hợp với van Gaal tới mức nào để ông sẵn sàng đóng băng vụ Vidal lại và theo đuổi anh?

Đầu tiên, Nigel de Jong là một cầu thủ thực sự thuộc về lối chơi pressing tổng lực của van Gaal. Không nhiều HLV biết điều này, nhưng thời gian de Jong chơi cho ĐT Hà Lan đã cho chiến lược gia 62 tuổi của Man Utd biết điều đó. Bên cạnh đó, De Jong là mẫu cầu thủ có vai trò cực kì cụ thể trong một hệ thống cực kì cụ thể. Anh chơi như một máy quét, thuần phòng ngự chứ không phóng khoáng như Ander Herrera, bao sân tốt, dọn dẹp khu vực trước cặp trung vệ. Với sơ đồ 3 hậu vệ, đây chính là người mà Man Utd cần. Đương nhiên De Jong đá không đẹp, nhưng cảm giác yên tâm mà anh tạo ra cho các đồng đội ở tiền tuyến chính là thứ tuyệt vời nhất mà De Jong mang lại. Bỏ 10 triệu euro, Man Utd sẽ có sự yên tâm này. Khá rẻ cho một cầu thủ có kinh nghiệm và đã khẳng định được đẳng cấp.

Còn nhớ, De Jong đã không dưới 1 lần làm Messi phải bất lực vò đầu trong trận bán kết World Cup vừa qua. Cách đây 4 năm, anh cũng đã xốc lại tinh thần cho ĐT Hà Lan trong khi họ đang bị ép bằng cú song phi vào ngực Xabi Alonso, thể hiện bản tính... bạo lực nhưng lại làm các đồng đội tỉnh giấc. Ngoài ra, De Jong không phải là cầu thủ chuyền bóng kém như Makelele ngày xưa. Makelele rất xuất sắc, nhưng anh chỉ chuyền được trong phạm vi... 5 mét. Còn De Jong không như vậy, anh có thể phát động tấn công sau khi nhận bóng từ trung vệ bằng những đường phất bóng dài thẳng vào phòng cấm địa đối phương. Dành cho những ai không tin vào điều này: tỉ lệ chuyền bóng thành công của De Jong cho AC Milan năm ngoái là 91.5%, chỉ thấp hơn đúng... 3 người tại Serie A. Chắc chắn chúng ta có thể kể ra hơn 3 người chuyền bóng siêu giỏi tại giải VĐQG Italia: Andrea Pirlo của Juventus, Riccardo Montolivo của AC Milan, Francesco Totti của AS Roma, Marek Hamsik của Napoli, Borja Valero của Fiorentina... Vậy mà tiền vệ đánh chặn của AC Milan xếp thứ 4.

Tỉ lệ chuyền bóng này của De Jong ở sân nhà là 95.54%, còn ở phần sân đối phương là 88.14%. Anh tạo ra tổng cộng 20 cơ hội cho các đồng đội từ các tình huống bóng sống. Bên cạnh đó, tỉ lệ soạc bóng thành công của De Jong là 76.71% sau 73 tình huống cản phá ở khu vực giữa sân. Và người ta càng thấy sự hiệu quả của De Jong khi anh chỉ phạm có 1.4 lỗi/ trận. Chưa dừng ở đó, tiền vệ 29 tuổi còn 209 lần cản đánh chặn thành công (trung bình 6 lần/ trận), cản phá các đường chuyền quyết định 92 lần, đứng thứ 8 trong cả giải.

10 triệu euro và mang về một người kế nhiệm Carrick trong ít nhất 3 năm tới (khi De Jong 32 tuổi), chắc chắn Van Gaal có lí do cho việc gác thương vụ Vidal sang một bên. De Jong giỏi hơn chúng ta vẫn nghĩ.
