Trên sân vận động Tổ Chim, Trung Quốc vào đêm qua, một Brazil hùng mạnh đã được tái hiện chẳng khác gì thời hùng mạnh của chính họ dưới thời Dunga năm 2007...

. Thời điểm đó (2007), Selecao thực sự rất mạnh, và việc họ "tàn sát" Albiceleste 3 bàn không gỡ là điều được dự đoán trước. Đêm qua, một ngày của năm 2014, Tổ Chim lại được chứng kiến một Argentina yếu đuối không thể chống cự lấy một lần trước Brazil hùng mạnh trong tay Dunga. Brazil cực mạnh trong phòng ngự số đông, khong ngại phạm lỗi và sẵn sàng cho đối thủ thấy sự trên cơ của mình.

Gerardo Martino mang tới Trung Quốc một đội bóng không hề yếu, nhưng những người được coi là có thể mang lại đột biến cho trận đấu trong tay ông không thể làm được những điều mà những người đồng nghiệp áo vàng làm được, thậm chí, cầu thủ được mệnh danh là xuất sắc nhất thế giới Lionel Messi còn đá hỏng một quả phạt đền. Ở phía cầu môn bên kia, mọi thứ lại thật đơn giản cho Selecao khi họ chỉ cần bơm những đường bóng cố định vào bên trong khu vực cấm địa của Albiceleste rồi chờ sai lầm tới. Và quả thực Dunga là người chuyên phát hiện ra những tài năng mới, hoặc biết cách tận dụng tới tối đa những cầu thủ không được đánh giá cao. Thời năm 2007, người kết liễu Argentina cho ông là Julio Baptista, còn trong năm 2014, Diego Tardelli là chân sút chủ lực của Selecao chứ không phải là Neymar hay bất kì ai khác.

Argentina có thể cảm thấy căm hận vì họ đã thua trong một trận đấu hoàn toàn vượt trội về thời lượng kiểm soát bóng và khả năng điều phối nhịp độ trận đấu trên sân. Nhưng thực tế, đội quân của Martino không một lần nào cho thấy sự thực sự vượt trội của mình. Một đội bóng bùng nổ, phũ phàng và tàn nhẫn nã vào lưới ĐKVĐ thế giới 4 bàn thắng đã biến mất, để thay vào đó là chiến thuật đi bộ trông phát bực tại Bắc Kinh. Khả năng gây sức ép của các cầu thủ Argentina đã giảm đi đáng kể. Vì sao nên nỗi? Ai cũng nhìn thấy, nhưng không ai phải cũng chấp nhận được: khi không có Lionel Messi, Albiceleste mạnh hơn gấp bội!

Nghe mới chua chát làm sao. Cầu thủ hay nhất thế giới, người một tay mang Argentina vào Chung kết World Cup, cuối cùng lại thành ra một người thừa? Câu trả lời: Vấn đề không nằm ở chỗ Messi giỏi ra sao, mà anh có thể đóng góp tới mức nào cho Argentina! M10 xuất chúng không đồng nghĩa với việc có anh trong đội hình là Albiceleste mạnh lên, bởi mọi thứ phức tạp hơn như vậy rất nhiều. Cầu thủ của Barcelona luôn muốn là trung tâm của sự chú ý. Tốt thôi, điều này mang lại sự tích cực rằng Messi lùi về rất sâu nơi tuyến giữa để lấy bóng, tuy nhiên trong bối cảnh mà Gonzalo Higuain hay Sergio Aguero không tận dụng nổi các cơ hội, lối chơi của Argentina vô tình trở nên quá phụ thuộc vào sự bùng nổ của Angel Di Maria, người không được xếp chơi sâu trong đội hình tấn công của Gerardo Martino.

Trong trận đấu với Đức thì sao? Các cầu thủ Argentina được giải phóng hoàn toàn khỏi nhiệm vụ hơi chút là tìm Messi trên từng mét vuông sân đấu, tận dụng tới tối đa chiều dài sân, tấn công cực nhanh gọn với sự chính xác tuyệt đối. Di Maria được cho phép chơi gần vòng 16m50 hơn, và chỉ khi đó tiền vệ của Man Utd mới cho thấy được vì sao anh lại là một trong những tiền vệ tấn công xuất sắc nhất thế giới với những pha xử lý bóng bậc thầy. Argentina chơi cực kì trực diện với những mảng miếng khó nắm bắt, đồng thời tận dụng tới tối đa những khoảng trống.

Tất cả những thứ đó tan biến khi Argentina buộc phải tạo điều kiện cho cái chân trái của Messi được múa may trên sân. Thực ra thì hơi phũ phàng khi nói rằng bài toán của Albiceleste có thể được giải quyết theo kiểu Lionel Messi ở… nhà và xem trận đấu qua TV. Điều đó cũng thực sự lãng phí tài năng của La Pulga. Có lẽ Messi sẽ toả sáng và đóng góp nhiều hơn nếu được đẩy lên chơi cao hơn như một hộ công, qua đó Aguero sẽ trở thành một tiền đạo đơn thuần chính thống, chứ không phải số 9 ảo nữa. Điều này sẽ giúp phát huy tới tối đa khả năng tận dụng thời cơ trước khung gỗ của chân sút thuộc biên chế Manchester City, qua đó cải thiện sự chính xác trong các pha dứt điểm. 

Cuối cùng, xem ra hàng thủ với những Ezequiel Garay hay Federico Fernandez lại không phải nguyên nhân chính dẫn tới màn trình diễn nhạt nhoà của Argentina. Sắp xếp một hàng công có quá nhiều tài năng như Messi, Aguero, Di Maria, Higuain hay Lavezzi là một bài toán khó, và đòi hỏi một ai đó cần phải hi sinh quyền lợi…
