Dù thất bại 0-2 trước U23 Nhật Bản ở lượt trận thứ hai vòng loại U23 châu Á đang diễn ra ở Malaysia là rất đáng khích lệ, song nếu chúng ta không bị thủng lưới vào phút chót thì nhiệm vụ nặng nề ở trận cuối gặp đối thủ rất yếu U23 Macau (thắng càng đậm càng tốt) có thể sẽ giảm bớt đi vài phần.

Không nằm ngoài dự đoán, U23 Việt Nam đã bất lực trong chuyện làm nên bất ngờ trước đối thủ mạnh nhất bảng, một ứng cử viên sáng giá cho danh hiệu vô địch U23 châu Á diễn ra vào tối qua 29/3. Dù chơi rất cố gắng, nhưng cuối cùng Công Phượng và các đồng đội vẫn để thua với tỉ số 0-2. Sau 2 lượt trận, thầy trò HLV Miura vẫn đứng thứ 2 tại bảng I vòng loại U23 châu Á với 3 điểm, dù kém hiệu số bàn thắng-bại so với U23 Malaysia (cũng có 3 điểm sau trận thắng U23 Macau 2-0) bởi theo quy định của Liên đoàn bóng đá châu Á (AFC), thành tích đối đầu sẽ quyết định thứ hạng trước tiên nếu hai hoặc nhiều đội có điểm số bằng nhau.

Ở lượt trận cuối diễn ra vào ngày mai (31/3), U23 Việt Nam chỉ phải gặp đối thủ quá yếu U23 Macau (lực lượng gồm toàn học sinh, sinh viên bán chuyên nghiệp) nên gần như chắc chắn Công Phượng và các đồng đội sẽ có trọn vẹn 3 điểm. Tuy nhiên, điều đáng quan tâm ở chỗ chúng ta có thể thắng với cách biệt bao nhiêu bàn vì nếu chỉ có được một tỷ số nhẹ nhàng, không đậm thì gần như chắc chắn tham vọng giành quyền tham dự VCK U23 châu Á diễn ra vào đầu năm sau tại Qatar sẽ chấm dứt, ngay cả khi các trận đấu cuối của các bảng còn lại chưa kết thúc.

Đầu tiên, hãy nhắc lại một chút về điều lệ của vòng loại U23 châu Á. Có tất cả 43 đội tuyển tham dự vòng loại, được chia thành 10 bảng. Các bảng (A – B – C) có 5 đội, 7 bảng còn lại (D – E – F- G – H – I – J) có 4 đội. 10 đội nhất bảng sẽ giành vé chính thức tới Qatar, 5 chiếc vé còn lại sẽ dành cho 5 đội nhì bảng có thành tích tốt nhất. Để đảm bảo công bằng với các bảng có 4 đội, ở những bảng đấu có 5 đội, thành tích của đội nhì bảng với đội cuối bảng sẽ không được tính. 5 đội nhì bảng có thành tích tốt nhất sẽ được xét đến lần lượt theo các tiêu chí sau: Điểm số giành được - Hiệu số bàn thắng/thua - Số bàn thắng - Số trận thắng ở vòng bảng - Số thẻ phạt - Bốc thăm.

Tính tới thời điểm hiện tại, theo kết quả mới nhất (ngoại trừ bảng B chưa thi đấu thì 9 bảng đều đã hoàn thành xong 2 lượt trận), U23 Việt Nam không nằm trong nhóm 5 đội nhì bảng có thành tích tốt nhất, thậm chí chúng ta chỉ đứng cuối (tham khảo ở bảng dưới đây). Xếp theo thứ tự, 5 đội này lần lượt là U23 Indonesia (6 điểm, hiệu số +7), U23 Yemen (6 điểm, hiệu số +6), U23 Uzbekistan (6 điểm, hiệu số +6), U23 Thái Lan (6 điểm, hiệu số +5) và U23 Myanmar (6 điểm, hiệu số +4).

Nhìn vào đây, mọi sự đã quá rõ ràng. Để giành quyền đi tiếp, trước mắt tối thiểu U23 Việt Nam phải chiếm được vị trí thứ 5 của U23 Myamar đồng nghĩa phải thắng U23 Macau với cách biệt 4-5 bàn và chờ đợi đối thủ này sảy chân trước U23 Australia ở lượt trận cuối. Tuy nhiên, đừng quên rằng ở nhóm dưới cùng chúng ta còn Oman và Ả Rập Xê Út (hai ĐT nằm ở nhóm 5 đội). Vẫn biết ở trận cuối, cả hai đều phải chạm trán đội đang dẫn đầu bảng (Iran, Iraq) nhưng không phải không có khả năng giành chiến thắng, nhất là hai đội tuyển kia nắm đến 90% cơ hội tham dự VCK, kể cả phải xếp thứ hai bởi hiệu số bàn thắng - bại tốt (cũng đều sở hữu 6 điểm, hiệu số của Iraq là +5 và Iran là +9 sau khi đã trừ đi kết quả với đội đứng cuối bảng). Mà như thế thì một trong hai đội (hoặc cả hai) sẽ sở hữu 7 điểm để qua mặt U23 Việt Nam.

Do đó, một chiến thắng với cách biệt 4-5 bàn thực sự quá rủi ro. Để tăng cơ hội vượt qua vòng loại U23 châu Á, thầy trò HLV Miura sẽ cần phải hướng đến vị trí cao hơn của U23 Indonesia hay U23 Yemen, tức là cần phải thắng U23 Macau tối thiểu với tỷ số 7-0 mà U23 Nhật Bản đã làm được trước đối thủ này. Khi ấy, thì một tấm vé dự VCK xem ra khó thoát khỏi tay chúng ta mà không cần phải bận tâm đến kết quả các trận khác ở các bảng khác. Dĩ nhiên, các đội đang thuộc Top 5 vẫn còn có cửa giành điểm số cao hơn 6 (chỉ cần hoà là đã đủ xếp trên U23 Việt Nam) mặc cho ở trận cuối đều phải gặp đội đang dẫn đầu song trên thực tế, khó có chuyện xảy ra đồng loạt khả năng này, trừ phi các đội dàn xếp, bắt tay nhau từ trước. Trong số các đội nhất bảng ở các bảng 4 đội thì Australia có hiệu số tốt nhất (+10) nên họ mà thua trước các đội đang xếp nhì bảng thì U23 Việt Nam hoàn toàn có quyền vượt qua, miễn là phải thắng U23 Macau với kết quả từ 7-0 trở lên.

Tỷ số đó thực sự là thách thức không hề nhỏ và vô cùng khó khăn nhưng không phải U23 Việt Nam không thể làm được, miễn là toàn đội quyết tâm, giữ vững tinh thần và HLV Miura cần đề ra một chiến thuật tấn công tổng lực hiệu quả nhất để có thể thắng càng đậm càng tốt.
