Aston Villa 1-2 Chelsea: Ngược dòng trong nháy mắt, The Blues củng cố vị trí trong Top 4

Không như dự đoán, Chelsea đã gặp phải vô vàn khó khăn trong chuyến hành quân đến sân của Aston Villa nằm ở nhóm cuối bảng. Họ vượt trội về thời lượng kiểm soát bóng nhưng lại không thể tạo ra nhiều cơ hội ăn bàn thật sự nguy hiểm, lại còn bị dẫn trước. Tuy nhiên chỉ trong vòng chưa đầy 2 phút, họ đã liên tiếp ghi bàn để thắng ngược thành công.

Cách đây vài ngày, Aston Villa đã “nướng” mất một trận sân nhà quý giá khi để Sheffield United cầm hòa 0-0. Kết quả ấy thoạt nhìn thì có vẻ tích cực bởi trước đó, Aston Villa đã phải trải qua chuỗi 5 trận thua liên tiếp ở sân chơi Premier League. Nhưng thực tế thì Aston Villa vẫn chôn chân ở vị trí áp chót BXH Premier League mùa này trước vòng 30, với vỏn vẹn 26 điểm.

Từ giờ đến cuối mùa, đoàn quân của HLV Dean Smith chỉ còn 5 trận sân nhà nữa thì 3 trong số đó, họ phải chạm trán với những vị khách cực mạnh. Sau Chelsea ở vòng 30 sẽ là Manchester United (vòng 34) và Arsenal (vòng 37). The Blues là một trong những đối thủ đáng ngại nhất với Aston Villa. 10 năm qua, Chelsea làm khách tại Villa Park 6 lần thì 4 lần trong số đó, họ ca khúc khải hoàn. Gần nhất, ở vòng 32 của Premier League 2015/16, đội bóng áo xanh thành London đã nghiền nát The Villa với tỷ số 4-0.

2 vòng sau thất bại tan tác đó, Aston Villa chính thức nhận vé trở về giải hạng Nhất. Bây giờ, trong mùa bóng đầu tiên được trở lại Premier League, thảm kịch tương tự có nguy cơ lớn tái diễn với Aston Villa. Và trong nỗi hoang mang đang bủa vây Villa Park hiện tại, cũng lại có bóng dáng Chelsea.

Đội hùng binh trong tay HLV Frank Lampard đang là một trong những tập thể đáng xem nhất tại Premier League mùa này. Trẻ trung, giàu khát vọng và có lối chơi cống hiến, Chelsea hoàn toàn xứng đáng với vị trí thứ 4 trên BXH. The Blues cũng đang nằm trong số những đội chơi sân khách hay nhất mùa này: 24 điểm/14 trận, thành tích chỉ thua Liverpool và Man City.

Công bằng mà nói, Aston Villa không chơi quá tệ trên sân nhà (18/26 điểm họ có được đều đến từ Villa Park). Nhưng mỗi khi gặp phải những đối thủ quá mạnh, sân bóng nhỏ bé này không đủ làm điểm tựa cho The Villa. Họ đã thua cả 3 trận đối đầu các đội thuộc nhóm Big Six ở sân nhà từ đầu mùa.

Trận này, tiền vệ Ruben Loftus-Cheek được HLV Lampard trao cơ hội tái xuất sau thời gian dài dưỡng thương. Trên hàng công, tiền đạo Giroud bất ngờ được ra sân ở vị trí trung phong cắm chứ không phải chân sút số 1 Tammy Abraham. Hỗ trợ cho Giroud là trò cưng của Lampard, Mason Mount cùng lão tướng sắp hết hợp đồng, Willian chứ không phải Pulisic, ngôi sao đầy hứa hẹn người Mỹ.

Với quyết tâm chiến thắng và thực lực trội hơn hẳn, Chelsea mau chóng triển khai thế trận tấn công dồn ép đội chủ nhà. Phút thứ 4,  từ quả tạt của Azpilicueta bên cánh phải, Loftus-Cheek băng vào đánh đầu đưa bóng đi chệch khung thành Aston Villa. Biết thân biết phận,  Aston Villa chơi phòng ngự số đông và trông chờ cơ hội từ những tình huống cố định. Cách đá này phần nào phát huy tác dụng khi The Blues dù cầm nhiều bóng hơn song tạo ra rât ít cơ hội nguy hiểm.

Chính xác đến phút 20, đội khách mới có cơ hội đáng kể đầu tiên khi Mason Mount tung ra cú đá uy lực từ ngoài vạch 16m50 nhưng thủ môn Nyland đã xuất sắc bay người cứu thua cho Aston Villa bất chấp bị chói nắng. Chelsea chủ yếu tấn công từ hai biên song hiệu quả gần như bằng không. Phút 31, Mason Mount tung thêm một cú dứt điểm quyết đoán từ góc hẹp. Người chiến thắng vẫn là thủ môn Nyland bên phía chủ nhà.

Không lâu sau đó, Aston Villa mới tung ra được đòn đánh trả đầu tiên trong hiệp 1 khi số 21 El-Ghazi thực hiện cú sút khá căng từ cự ly hơn 20m. Phút 35, McGinn bất ngờ xâm nhập khu vực 16m50 và thoải mái tung cú đánh đầu sau quả tạt của El Ghazi bên cánh trái nhưng bóng đi chệch cột.

Phút 39, lại là Mason Mount dẫn bóng lắt léo rồi thực hiện đường chuyền loại bỏ toàn bộ hàng thủ Aston Villa. Tuy nhiên Loftus-Cheek băng vào hơi chậm nên để cơ hội trôi qua đáng tiếc. Và rồi bất ngờ đã nổ ra ở phút 43. Từ cánh phải, Gealish nhả bóng ra sau cho Douglas Luiz treo bóng khó chịu vào khu vực 16m50. Pha dứt điểm đầu tiên của trung vệ Kortney Hause đã không thắng được Kepa nhưng cú đá bồi sau đó của chính trung vệ này đã làm tung mành lưới Chelsea.

Bước sang hiệp 2, Chelsea không hề khởi sắc hơn bao nhiêu dù vẫn vượt trội về tỷ lệ kiểm soát bóng. Hệ quả tất yếu, HLV Lampard phải bắt đầu thay đổi nhân sự và chính cầu thủ vào sân thay người đã mang về bàn gỡ hòa cho The Blues. Phút 61, Azpilicueta tạt bóng khó chịu từ cánh phải và hàng thủ Aston Villa đã để lọt Pulisic. Cầu thủ người Mỹ không bị ai kèm lao vào dứt điểm tung lưới Aston Villa ở cự ly gần.

Chưa đầy 2 phút sau, Chelsea có bàn thứ 2. Trong một đợt phối hợp tấn công được triển khai vô cùng nhịp nhàng và ăn ý, lại là đội trưởng Azpilicueta (lần này đã chạy sang trái) thả bóng vào giữa khu vực 16m50 cho Giroud xoay người thanh thoát rồi dứt điểm sượt qua chân một cầu thủ Aston Villa, làm bó tay Nyland.

Ngược dòng thành công, Chelsea chuyển sang lối chơi chậm rãi và đề cao sự an toàn chứ không còn ào ạt vây hãm cầu môn đội chủ nhà. Sự thay đổi đó khiến cho Aston Villa gần như không có cửa bật lại. Phút 84, Willian tung cú "nã đại bác" từ ngoài vùng cấm buộc thủ môn Nyland phải trổ hết tài nghệ để cứu thua cho Aston Villa.

Phút 87, trong một pha bóng tưởng hết sức bình thường, cặp trung vệ Rudiger vs Christensen của đội khách đã chơi không tốt, qua đó mở ra cơ hội cho Jota Peleteiro vừa vào sân nhưng may cho Chelsea, cú dứt điểm chân trái của cầu thủ này đã đi chệch cột dọc trong gang tấc.

Khoảng thời gian còn lại, Aston Villa đã nỗ lực đến hơi thở cuối cùng song những gì họ làm được chỉ là vài ba cơ hội bị bỏ lỡ nữa mà thôi như cú đá phạt từ cự ly 30m trúng vào vị trí của Kape. Chung cuộc, Chelsea thắng 2-1 để củng cố vị trí thứ 4 trên BXH với 51 điểm, hơn MU phía sau đến 5 điểm. Trong khi đó, Aston Villa vẫn dậm chân ở vị trí thứ 19 nhưng chỉ kém khu vực an toàn đúng 1 điểm.
