Tổng thuật Southampton vs Chelsea

Trước chuyến làm khách tới sân của Southampton, Chelsea đã trải qua chuỗi 3 chiến thắng liên tiếp trên mọi đấu trường. The Blues vì thế rất tự tin sẽ nối dài chuỗi ngày vui, nhất là khi đối thủ của họ chưa biết đến mùi chiến thắng tại chính “tổ ấm” St Mary’s kể từ đầu mùa.

Chelsea vẫn ra sân với đội hình gồm những ngôi sao đang có phong độ cao như Jorginho, Willian, Mason Mount và Tammy Abraham. Đáng chú ý nhất là sự xuất hiện của cầu thủ chạy cánh Callum Hudson-Odoi, người có lần đá chính đầu tiên tại Premier League kể từ tháng 4.

Những phút đầu trận, Southampton cho thấy quyết tâm “phá dớp” chưa thắng trên sân nhà khi đá rát và tấn công chủ động khiến Chelsea gặp nhiều khó khăn trong việc triển khai bóng. Dù vậy, với đẳng cấp của những ngôi sao trong đội hình, The Blues mới là đội sở hữu cơ hội rõ rệt đầu tiên khi Abraham thử tài thủ môn Angus Gunn sau đường chuyền của Hudson-Odoi ở phút 11.

Lên bóng không nhiều nhưng Chelsea tỏ ra hết sức sắc sảo mỗi khi tấn công và phút 17, họ đã có được bàn thắng mở tỉ số. Xuất phát từ tình huống phản công, Hudson-Odoi tung ra đường chuyền vượt tuyến cực kì chuẩn xác để Abraham thoát xuống rồi tâng bóng qua đầu thủ môn Gunn. Maya Yoshida đã rất nỗ lực lao về phá bóng nhưng trọng tài xác định bóng đã đi qua vạch vôi.

Chỉ mất vỏn vẹn 7 phút để Chelsea tìm được bàn thắng nhân đôi cách biệt. Jan Bednarek có tình huống phá bóng bằng đầu lỗi tạo điều kiện cho Willian cướp được bóng rồi chuyền cho Mount. Tiền vệ mang áo số 19 thực hiện pha đột phá quyết đoán xộc thẳng vào vòng cấm trước khi tung ra cú dứt điểm căng hạ gục Gunn.

Phút 30, Southampton rút ngắn tỉ số xuống còn 1-2 nhờ nỗ lực cá nhân của Yan Valery. Hậu vệ 20 tuổi thực hiện pha đột phá táo bạo rồi căng ngang cho Danny Ings dứt điểm cắt mặt. Ở tình huống này, Kurt Zouma cũng mắc lỗi không nhỏ khi tỏ ra quá chậm chạp.

Tuy nhiên, với khác biệt được tạo ra bởi những cá nhân xuất sắc cũng như một chút may mắn, Chelsea không mất nhiều thời gian để tái lập thế dẫn trước 2 bàn. Phút 40, N’Golo Kane tung ra cú dứt điểm từ xa, bóng chạm một hậu vệ Southampton khiến thủ môn Gunn chỉ biết chôn chân đứng nhìn. 3-1 nghiêng về phía The Blues cũng là kết quả của 45 phút thi đấu đầu tiên.

Ngay đầu hiệp 2, Hudson-Odoi đã có cơ hội để “kết liễu” Southampton nhưng đáng tiếc lại không thể chiến thắng thủ môn Gunn. Những phút sau đó, các học trò của HLV Frank Lampard chủ động giảm nhịp độ trận đấu và thi thoảng mới tăng tốc.

Nhìn chung, trái với sự sôi nổi trong 45 phút đầu, hiệp 2 diễn ra với tốc độ chậm và ít tình huống đáng chú ý. Chelsea kiểm soát thế trận rất tốt nhờ khả năng giữ cũng như chuyền bóng vượt trội của tuyến giữa khiến Southampton hoàn toàn bế tắc.

Mãi đến phút 89, bàn thắng thứ 5 của trận đấu mới đến và nó lại thuộc về Chelsea sau pha phối hợp giữa 2 cầu thủ vào sân thay người. Christian Pulisic có tình huống xử lý khéo léo trước khi chuyền bóng tinh tế cho Michy Batshuayi thoát xuống “xâu kim” thủ thành đối phương.
