Cách đây vài ngày, Chelsea đã phơi áo trước Man City ngay tại sân nhà Stamford Bridge. Chiều ngược lại, Pep Guardiola đang sở hữu trong tay đầy đủ binh hùng tướng mạnh nên có thể thoải mái xoay vòng lực lượng theo ý thích. Trận đấu tại Stamford Bridge vừa qua đã cho thấy khác biệt lớn nhất giữa hai đội nằm ở hàng dự bị. Trong khi Chelsea không còn ai để thay thế Sterling hay Pulisic, thì Man City thậm chí có thể thay cả đội hình nếu muốn.

Dù xáo trộn nhân sự mạnh mẽ song với việc đội hình đã được xây dựng theo triết lý xuyên suốt và bài bản trong nhiều năm trời mà Man City vẫn thi đấu rất ăn khớp, vô cùng nhuần nhuyễn như thể chẳng có điều gì xảy ra. Dẫu vậy, Chelsea rất "biết mình biết người" khi thiết lập thế trận chặt chẽ, ưu tiên tối đa cho phòng ngự.
