Kịch bản mà hàng triệu CĐV Liverpool mong đợi đã xảy ra tại Stamford Bridge khi Chelsea chẳng những không thua mà còn thắng thuyết phục Man City. Với kết quả này, Liverpool đã chính thức sở hữu chức vô địch Premier League mùa này.

Dùng từ “hoàn hảo” để nói về Man City sau đại dịch quả là không quá lời bởi họ thể hiện sự vượt trội một cách toàn diện so với các đối thủ. Trước Arsenal, Man City dứt điểm trúng đích đến 12 lần, ghi 3 bàn và thậm chí họ còn không để "Pháo thủ" sút trúng khung thành một lần nào. Rồi đến màn vùi dập Burnley 5-0, cũng là một kịch bản tương tự: các học trò của HLV Pep Guardiola bắn phá cầu môn đối phương đến 19 lần, trong khi Burnley chỉ có được 1 pha dứt điểm, lại chỉ là một cú đá cầu may thiếu chuẩn xác.
Chelsea vs Man City

Man City chỉ phải làm khách của Chelsea giữa những khán đài trống vắng hoàn toàn. Mà ngay cả khi có sự cổ vũ của hàng chục nghìn CĐV nhà, The Blues cũng liên tục bị lép vế trước Man City. 12 lần gần nhất tiếp đón Man City trong các trận đấu chính thức, Chelsea chỉ 4 lần ca khúc khải hoàn (thua 6). Ngoài ra đội quân trẻ trung của Frank Lampard thường phải nếm trái đắng khi chạm trán các đối thủ "đồng cân đồng lạng". Trên sân nhà mùa này, Chelsea bị Man United đánh bại 2-0 tại FA Cup, bị Bayern vùi dập 3-0 ở Champions League, rồi trước đó nữa cũng từng bị Man United loại tại Cúp Liên đoàn Anh bằng tỷ số 2-1.

Có thể Chelsea đã hạ được Liverpool tại sào huyệt, nhưng nên nhớ đó là một trận đấu mà The Kop mang theo đội hình dự bị, với những Minamino, Jones, Williams, Origi, Adrian hay Lallana đá chính. Stamford Bridge thật sự không phải là điểm tựa quá vững chắc với thầy trò HLV Frank Lampard. Từ đầu mùa 2019/20, số trận thắng sân khách của họ còn nhiều hơn sân nhà (8 so với 7).

Pulisic, cầu thủ đã chọc thủng lưới Aston Villa tạo ra bước ngoặt của trận đấu, đã được tưởng thưởng bằng suất đá chính. Ngoài ra, Ross Barkley có mặt ở khu vực giữa sân thay Loftus-Cheek.
Man City nhập cuộc tốt hơn

Không nằm ngoài dự đoán, dù phải làm khách nhưng Man City mới là đội kiểm soát được tình hình, dồn Chelsea về phần sân nhà. Phút 18, từ quả đá phạt bên cánh trái, Fernandinho di chuyển chọn điểm rơi và thực hiện cú đánh đầu khó trong tư thế thoải mái tuy nhiên Kepa đã xuất sắc cản phá thành công. Phút 27, Chelsea mới đưa ra được câu trả lời với pha xử lý và sút căng của Barkley trong khu vực 16m50 của Man City song bóng đã sượt qua chân Fernandinho rồi đi chệch cột dọc.

Đến phút 32, cầu môn Man City liên tiếp chao đảo dữ dội nhưng lần lượt Barkley, Christensen rồi Azpilicueta không làm sao mang về được bàn thắng cho Chelsea. Song The Blues cũng chẳng phải chờ đợi quá lâu để được ăn mừng bàn mở tỷ số. Mendy xử lý như một gã hề bên phần sân đối phương, mở ra thời cơ cho Pulisic đoạt bóng, bứt tốc lao đi về phía cầu môn Man City và cuối cùng lạnh lùng đánh bại Ederson trong pha đối mặt.

Phút 38, Riyad Mahrez tung cú dứt điểm sở trường đưa bóng đi sạt xà ngang khung thành Kepa. Khoảng thời gian cuối hiệp 1, Man City tích cực gia tăng sức ép nhưng không làm sao kiếm được bàn gỡ. Bước sang hiệp 2, Man City vẫn duy trì áp lực tấn công song gần như không có chút khởi sắc nào. Hàng thủ áo xanh cũng chẳng phải chống đỡ quá vất vả.

Tuy nhiên đừng quên Man xanh sở hữu nhiều cầu thủ đẳng cấp thế giới trong đội hình và chỉ cần một trong số đó lóe sáng, cục diện sẽ đảo chiều. Điều đó đã đến với Man City vào phút 55. Từ chấm đá phạt cách khung thành Chelsea khoảng 20m, Kevin De Bruyne tung ra cú sút đẳng cấp vào góc chết và pha bay người của Kepa chỉ có tác dụng làm nền cho bàn gỡ hòa của đội khách mà thôi.

Trên đà hưng phấn, chút nữa Man City có bàn thứ 2. Phút 57, trong một đợt tổ chức phản công nhanh, Sterling thoát xuống đối mặt Kepa và dứt điểm đưa bóng đi dội cột. Mải mê tấn công kiếm tìm bàn thắng, đội khách chút nữa bị chọc thủng lưới lần thứ 2. Phút 71, Pulisic lại có cơ hội dẫn bóng đối mặt Ederson trong khu vực 16m50 và lần này, anh chọn giải pháp rê bóng qua người rồi sút về cầu môn bỏ trống. Song bằng nỗ lực thần kỳ, Kyle Walker vẫn kịp lùi về để phá bóng ngay trên vạch vôi.

Với việc công nghệ goal-line được áp dụng trong các trận bóng đá tại Anh thì chắc chắn chẳng có chuyện bóng đã qua vạch vôi như mong đợi của nhiều CĐV Liverpool. Đến phút 75, thêm một tình huống "hỗn loạn" trước cầu môn Man City. Tammy Abraham tung cú dứt điểm cận thành sau pha kiến tạo của Willian nhưng không thể thắng Ederson. Chính tiền đạo này cùng Pulisic ra sức đá bồi song Fernandinho đã nỗ lực đến cùng để phá bóng giải nguy cho khung thành đội nhà.

Tuy nhiên, kịch tính đã xảy ra ngay sau đó. Trọng tài Stuart Attwell sau khi trao đổi với tổ VAR đã xác định rằng Fernandinho đã khéo léo dùng tay cản bóng. Hệ quả tất yếu, thủ quân đội khách phải nhận thẻ đỏ trực tiếp còn Chelsea được hưởng một quả penalty và Willian thực hiện thành công.
Man City chính thức trở thành cựu vương Premier League

Tinh thần của Man City suy giảm rõ rệt sau khi bị thủng lưới lần thứ 2 nên dù thời gian còn lại khá nhiều, họ cũng chẳng thể tạo ra được điều gì đặc biệt để trận đấu thêm phần thi vị. Thậm chí, thủ môn Ederson mà không chơi tốt trong vài tình huống thì đội khách còn thua đậm hơn.

Tiếng còi kết thúc trận đấu vang lên và không chỉ mỗi CĐV Chelsea sung sướng. Như vậy, Liverpool đã chính thức đoạt chức vô địch Premeir League 2019/20 sớm 7 vòng đấu (hiện đã hơn Man City tới 23 điểm). Càng ngọt ngào hơn khi vòng sau, họ sẽ được chính đối thủ vừa bị mình phế truất, Man City thực hiện nghi lễ "chào mừng tân vương" khi hai đội chạm trán ở vòng 32 trên Etihad.
